Mall Welcomes Stray Dog as Part of the Staff [Video]

Mallgoers recently encountered an unexpected sight at a mall in the Philippines: a stray dog lounging in plain sight of everyone.

No one knew when or how it got there. It probably needed some cold comfort from the outside heat, or maybe some loving attention.

One of the mallgoers, Jan Mart Calimpong, got to record the moment that the mall security was alerted of the pup.

He was pleasantly surprised to see that the security guard treated the unexpected guest gently, instead of harshly shooing it away. The guard even gave the pup a few scratches before escorting him away like a pet owner would.

“He handled him like a pet. He was even wagging his tail,” Calimpong shared.

The dog’s mall visit became even better when the mall officials decided to offer him a job in security! The pup, now named Dogdog, has become an official member of the mall’s security staff.

It turns out that the mall took in 10 stray dogs to be part of their security team!

The mall’s statement read, “We are continuously building a culture of inclusiveness where humans and animals, like Dogdog, come together and help each other.”

Dogdog’s fateful visit to the mall brought him a family who truly cares about him!

The mall’s action to adopt stray dogs into their staff is not just a smart business decision, but also an act of compassion.

Dogdog has since become “a living landmark,” says Calimpong. “He’s a must-see for people in the area. As a pet lover, particularly for dogs, I’m really glad to see that.”
