The internet has found a new furry sensation in Hulk, a Jack Russell Terrier who resides in Cheshire, England, with his owner Jess Irving, a Ph.D. student.

Irving recently launched a TikTok account, @hulkythejrt, to showcase Hulk’s amusing escapades.

In a matter of days, Hulk became a viral star when a video captured his dramatic pause during a walk—all because of a leaf.

Irving explained that Hulk, who is six years old, is “so smart,” but has sensitive feet due to a past nail bed infection.

“We’ve had similar dramatics after standing in dog poo, on a slug, when the path is too stony,” she shared.

“Some days he comes out like he’s ready to audition for an episode of [British soap opera] EastEnders!”

It shows Hulk standing still on a leaf-strewn sidewalk, his paw lifted delicately.

Irving’s sweet voice can be heard asking: “Poor baby, what’s happened?”

Zooming in, she reveals a leaf stuck to Hulk’s paw.

“It was just a leaf on your foot,” she reassures him, removing the leaf before asking: “Are you OK?”

She humorously labeled the video as featuring the “World’s most dramatic dog,” and joked in the caption: “There is a reason why his prefix is HRH [His Royal Highness].”

Irving noted that Jack Russells like Hulk are often “misunderstood,” with a belief that they need a “firm hand,” which she finds untrue.

“They’re very sensitive!” she emphasized.

Originally bred in the U.K. for fox hunting, Jack Russells are now beloved family pets.

The American Kennel Club describes them as intelligent, confident, and affectionate with their families.

Despite his dramatic flair, Hulk is “fantastic to live with,” according to Irving.

“He’s got the typical working dog exercise levels, so we’re always out walking, training, or [doing] scent work,” she explained.

Hulk is attuned to the terrain, asking to be carried when encountering spiky horse chestnuts or holly leaves.
