Quick Smiles:

  • Mina teaches her pet pig, Merlin, a charming door-closing trick, but with a funny twist!
  • Merlin, ever the clever pig, associates the command with one specific door, much to Mina’s amusement.
  • The TikTok community showers Merlin with praise, loving his little foot-tapping sounds and hilarious door preference.

While we’ve seen dogs perform jaw-dropping tricks and cats showing off their agility, there’s a new star in town, and he’s a pig with a penchant for doors!

Merlin, the delightful pet pig of TikTok user Mina Alali (@mina.alai), is here to showcase his unique trick and give us all a good chuckle.

Mina proudly shared, “I taught Merlin to close the door,” in her video.

However, there’s a delightful twist.

Merlin, in all his wisdom, has decided that the command applies to one particular door.

As Mina tries to guide him our star piglet marches confidently to his preferred door, seemingly asking, “This one, right?”

The comments section lit up with love and laughter for Merlin.

Remarks like “That was so adorable” and “He did great” were aplenty, with users sharing their own piggy tales.

One commented, “Mine closes out the front door and leaves me outside when she’s done playing in the yard.”

Highlighting the inquisitive nature of pigs, The British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals compares them to dogs in certain aspects.

An expert shared, “Pigs are very curious animals, and enjoy an environment where they can explore, root around with their snouts, and manipulate objects.”

Given this, it’s no surprise that Merlin has decided on his own door-closing rules.

Merlin’s delightful antics prove that he’s right where he belongs, surrounded by love, laughter, and of course, his favorite door.

So, hats off to Merlin for reminding us all to find joy in the little things and march to the beat of our own drum (or door).
