  • Robin has early-onset Alzheimer’s and Cher’s music helped the whole family cope with her diagnosis.

One of Cher’s biggest fans got a wonderful surprise when they were FaceTimed by the singer.

Erica Steiner shared the video showing the reaction of her 60-year-old mom Robin as she realizes she’s on a call with her idol.

Erica shared that her mom had early-onset Alzheimer’s, and that Cher’s music helped her family cope with the diagnosis.

“Cher is basically another caregiver in our house – her presence consistently calms my mom when she’s frustrated or sad,” she said.

She said that her mother has been Cher’s “biggest fan since childhood”, which makes the call the “greatest 8 minutes” of their lives.

The video starts when Erica tells her mom that someone heard about her and wanted to greet her.

“It’s Cher,” she says repeatedly, when her mom seems to not register what’s happening. To which her mom replies, “I know it’s Cher.”

Erica again reminds her mom that the call is live and not previously videotaped. But Robin, who doesn’t seem to believe it, simply greets and thanks the singer calmly.

Robin then happily recounted the time she went to Cher’s Las Vegas concert. It was only a minute after that when she finally realized that she was indeed on a live call with her idol.

Overwhelmed with emotions, she said, “I love you. I can’t do this, it’s too much.”

After pulling off this amazing surprise, Erica thinks she might as well shoot for the stars for her next one.

“Ill definitely never be able top this … but it makes me want to try. I think John Travolta’s up next,” she tweeted.
