  • A rescue worker chanced upon a dog asking for help from drivers along the road that she was driving on in the forest of Puerto Rico.
  • She got down to help the dog and saw her two puppies by the side of the road and went through the forest to look for more.
  • Rescue worker Ashley Boggs managed to bring the mom and 6 dogs to the shelter where they are now safe and waiting for adoption.

Miracles for Satos Rescue worker Ashley Boggs felt something was wrong when she was driving along a forest road in Puerto Rico.  There was a car ahead of her that stopped and then continued on.

With her curiosity piqued, she continued and found the reason for the traffic halting — there was a small brown dog asking for help.

Ashley said, “I got out and noticed she was a nursing mom, so I decided to follow her.”

And there by the side of the road were mama dog’s puppies! She quickly took the dog and her two puppies to her car to keep them safe from the road and looked for the rest of the brood.

Ashley recalled, “That is when I could hear puppy cries coming from the wooded area and went to investigate.”

As she walked through the forest, she could see the little faces of puppies looking at her and was surprised that there were still many.  Ashley said, “I was also sad because I knew that they wouldn’t have survived if I hadn’t found them. There was no food or water left, and they were in a very secluded area. It is joyful and sorrowful all at the same time. They were just so adorable.”

Ashley gathered all four pups and reunited her with the mom and other kids. She now had a family of seven that she brought to the shelter.

And the loving mum could not help but kiss and hug her to say thank you for rescuing them.

And the pups are as loving and affectionate as the mum, making them shelter favorites.

Ashley said, “The mom is such an angel.” She added, “She is very loving and enjoys when people come in and pet her. The puppies are extremely playful. They love to play with the volunteers and tug on the shoe laces.”

It is no wonder that two pups have already been adopted and hopefully soon, momma dog and the rest of the puppies will end up in their forever homes.
