Multigenerational Family Donates 650 Acres of Lake Palestine Shoreline to Become New State Park

Quick Smiles:
- East Texas family preserves 650 acres as new state park
- Generations of memories will now be shared with the public
- Native pine forests and wetlands saved for future generations
A beloved stretch of shoreline along Lake Palestine in East Texas is being turned into a new state park after its longtime family owners decided to sell the land for public use. The property, which is the longest remaining stretch of undeveloped shoreline on the lake, contains pine forests, wetlands, and a pecan orchard that will soon be open to visitors.
Three generations of the same family have lived on and loved this land, and they wanted it preserved rather than developed. Their choice ensures that the natural beauty and peaceful character of the property will remain untouched for years to come.
