Pig and Bull Develop Friendship Amid Desperate Situation [Video]

Amos the pig and Lionel the bull were just a piglet and a calf when they formed an unlikely friendship amid a dire situation. Now, thanks to their rescuers, they are living their best lives.

The pair were only among several animals who lived in a roadside stand in south Florida.

There was no food or water in the cardboard boxes they lived in, and their cages were never cleaned out. Thankfully, their owners were reported to the authorities by a kind stranger. When the SFSPCA arrived to rescue them, the animals were nearly dying.

Amos and Lionel’s rescuers instantly noticed their unlikely friendship. While protocols would normally dictate different species to be separated, they decided to keep the friends together.

The pair were eventually welcomed by Critter Creek Farm Sanctuary in Gainesville, Florida.

Erin Amerman shared, “We were thrilled to be able to bring them to the sanctuary.”

She added that while the two were initially hesitant to venture out of their stalls, they quickly warmed up to their new friends. Once they relaxed, they ran around and chased each other happily.

The pair’s adorable friendship has since been spreading good vibes across the sanctuary and even across the world.

Erin said that Amos thinks of Lionel as his mom. Whenever he feels scared, he runs towards him to feel safe, and Lionel would calm him down.

The pair both lost their own families at a very young age, so they depended upon each other as their new family. They simply grew to love each other genuinely.

“It’s so heartwarming to see how animals can find love in the darkest situations. To see these two able to love as deeply as they do, it gives me hope,” Erin shared.

Amos and Lionel are both a lot bigger now, but they grew up together, and so they maintained their close friendship.
