Poodle walking in park recognizes man on bench she hasn’t seen for months [Video]
- Rave, a sweet poodle, took training sessions in a local park last year.
- Recently, 10 months after the training ended, her mom Kim Carino and the teacher decided to meet up in the park and see if Rave could recognize him.
- Much to their delight, the sweet pup slowed down and approached her teacher as they passed by him sitting on a bench!
What are the odds that a pup would remember someone she last saw almost a year ago?
Well, this sweet poodle named Rave never forgets.
Last year, Rave’s mom, Kim Carino, got the pup in a training. A friend of Kim’s late brother, who has experience in training dogs, offered his help so Rave would be her best self. Eventually, the friend became more than just a teacher to Rave.
“We met with him weekly,” Kim told The Dodo. “Rave adored him.”
Rave had the training sessions the entire summer in a local park. Though she had finally “graduated,” Rave’s teacher never left her heart.
Kim and the teacher decided to meet up once again in the park to surprise Rave — 10 months after the training ended.
Their plan was for the man to sit quietly on a bench, while Kim and Rave walked around the park, to check if the pup would recognize him.
To their surprise, Rave has never forgotten him even after all that time!
“I wanted to see if she would know it was him. I suspected she would ‘cause she is a smart poodle,” Kim said. “When I saw the reaction she had to my brother’s friend, I had no doubt how very special she is. It warmed my heart so.”
The reunion obviously made the pup’s heart jump, she couldn’t have been happier!
Kim and Rave’s teacher then decided to have a regular meeting moving forward, as they’ve witnessed how happy Rave was in that encounter.
“He’s a forever friend of mine and Rave’s,” the fur mom said. “She’s the biggest gift in my life.”
