Pup Flags Down Car to Ask Help for Mom [Video]

• Clover’s mom, Haley Moore, collapsed and had a seizure on the side of the road.
• To ask for help, Clover backed into the middle of the street to catch the attention of a driver, who stopped the vehicle.
• While the driver helped and another passerby assisted, Clover alerted her mom’s family until paramedics arrived.

While on a walk with her dog through their neighborhood, Haley Moore collapsed on the side of the road and started seizing. 

Her dog Clover positioned herself in the middle of the road to flag down a vehicle. Fortunately, the driver, Dryden Oatway, got out of his van and assisted Haley.

Oatway said it was really impressive how Clover actually blocked his way by backing into the road onto his truck. “The whole time she was backing down the street she had eyes on [Haley], didn’t look away from her. She kept her distance from me but made sure her owner was okay and that was amazing,” he added.

Another passerby who stopped to help, Danielle Pilon, said, “You could tell she didn’t want to leave her even when we were with her but I think it just came to her that she was like ‘I need to go home to let them know she needs help.’”

Clover then ran and alerted other members of Haley’s family.  Paramedics were already treating Haley when her parents arrived, thanks to Clover.

Haley’s mom, Diane Moore, recalled, “Watching Clover do what she did, making sure she was taking care of her human sister and going to the extreme… she basically put her life on the line for her girl.”

Haley can only remember waking up in the ambulance, confused about what was going on.

She is now doing well at her home but the reason for the sudden seizure is still not known. Still, they are confident that if it happens again, they can count on Clover to save the day.

Haley said, “If this ends up happening again, I feel 10 times safer and I know she will be there for me. You know how good animals are and she’s a really amazing dog and I love her to death.”
