Meet Rocky, a lively golden retriever who loves meeting new people. He tends to get overexcited when his family has guests over, however. So when he gets the zoomies, his family shows him videos of squirrels to focus on.

Screen time is, after all, a tried-and-tested solution for parents in desperate need of a break.

So instead of confining Rocky in a kennel or an empty room, his parents load up entertaining videos for him to watch.

Like other parents who already know to load up cartoons or play “Baby Shark” on loop, Rocky’s parents also know what he likes: good ol’ videos of squirrels.

It works like magic!

In the video shared on TikTok and later by the world-renowned We Rate Dogs, Rocky can be seen lounging on the couch while watching videos on a phone.

We can hear voices all around him, presumably from a lively gathering, but Rocky pays them no mind. He’s watching squirrels with laser focus.

A voice can be heard observing, “He’s like, truly watching.” At this point, we can see an intent Rocky watching the squirrels closely, with his nose almost touching the screen — like most kids tend to do.

The video has since been viewed over 2 million times, and Rocky even got an epic 14/10 rating from We Rate Dogs.

And when someone mentioned that the phone screen might be too small, Rocky’s parents responded and delivered.

It turns out that Rocky loves watching squirrels on the big screen, too!

Watching screens may not be the solution for every dog. But watching squirrels certainly cures Rocky’s zoomies!

Like a lot of kids, Rocky has the same level of focus when watching his favorite videos.
