  • At the height of the pandemic, most of Yappy.com’s staff had to undergo lockdown.
  • When owner John Smith found himself mostly alone in the office, he brought 8-year-old border collie Lottie with him.
  • Lottie uplifted the spirits of John and the rest of the staff, so much that John had to award Lottie “Employee of the Month” 15 times in a row!

Lottie has brought joy to the office of Yappy.com, an online personalized gift shop for pets based in Manchester, England, amid the troubles of the pandemic. Because of this, she has won “Employee of the Month” 15 times!

A video posted by the company’s Instagram account showed the wall filled with Lottie’s name and adorable pictures. The lovely photos showed her dressing up accordingly to the seasons and holidays associated with each month. For her first win, Yappy.com’s founder, John Smith, even posed with her as a character from Tiger King.

The 8-year-old border collie won consecutive Employee of the Month titles from April 2020 to June 2021.

The pandemic had forced Smith and 25 staff members to undergo lockdown.

John shared that he had to juggle “the demands of running a business and trying to ensure that the morale of my staff was kept intact” — a burden that was lightened by the sweet Lottie.

While John was mostly alone at the office, he took Lottie with him and regularly shared photos and videos that brought smiles to everyone. He said that Lottie kept him going.

“I decided to start sharing photos of our days with the team to keep everyone smiling. Lottie was a total star and definitely deserved to be awarded ‘Empawee’ of the Month for simply making the whole team smile on busy days and for keeping me company,” he shared.

When the rest of the company staff returned to the office, they saw the wall filled with proof of Lottie’s reign as the “Employee of the Month.”

“Little did we know that during lockdown the leader of the #YappyPack, John, would rip up the ‘Employee of the Month’ rulebook,” joked Yappy’s Instagram video caption.

Since Yappy.com is a pet company, it’s already home to many dog owners who love bringing their pups to work when possible. So, the company is now looking for Chief Puppy Officer to manage the office dogs and keep them happy while their humans “continue to create amazing new gift products for our customers and their pets.”
