While the older dog seems to understand this, the puppy is still testing the waters.

Earlier this month, Tiffany shared a side-splitting clip on TikTok (@dancingneighbor) that captured the moment she discovered her pup’s sneaky hideaway. After searching the house, she found the pup nestled in the couch’s corner, cleverly camouflaged behind the cushions.

Once caught, the puppy made no attempt to move, instead opting to resume her nap.

The video has been a hit with viewers, who are charmed by the pup’s cheeky antics, amassing over 1.4 million views and 226,000 likes. Alongside the amusing clip, Tiffany captioned: “Here we go again.”

The hope is that one day the puppy will find a more appropriate resting spot, but for now, she’s still figuring it out.

Training a dog to stay off the couch can be tricky, as experts advise patience, consistency, and clarity. It’s crucial that everyone in the household agrees on the rules and provides an alternative resting place for the dog.

Positive reinforcement is key, and it’s suggested to establish the rule from puppyhood.

Keeping toys on the floor and spending time on the floor with the dog can help them feel included. If they have a dog bed, placing it in a busy area of the house can make them feel involved. Alternatively, if they prefer a certain spot, consider placing the bed there.

Teaching a “go to bed” cue and rewarding the dog for using their bed can help reinforce the behavior. Over time, this will become a habit, and they’ll look forward to lounging in their designated spot.
