  • Dolly gave every crew member a Valentine heart on the set of Reba’s show, treating everyone with equal warmth.
  • Reba now carries on Dolly’s tradition of kindness on her new show, Happy’s Place.

Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton shared a friendship that spanned decades in the world of country music.

They worked together, performed together, and shared a special bond few others could truly understand.

“The day Dolly died, we were filming ‘Happy’s Place’ that day, and one of our camera operators, Jeff, came over to me and he said, ‘Did you know that when she was doing the Reba show, she had those little Valentine hearts and gave one to every crew member?’”

Reba had no idea Dolly had done this until that moment.

She was deeply moved by the story, learning yet another example of Dolly’s generosity and thoughtfulness after her passing.

“She treated everyone equally. No matter what you did on the set, you were treated equally. And everybody admired that and felt so seen, and it was precious.”

Reba says she strives to honor Dolly’s example every day on the set of Happy’s Place.

“That’s what we do on our show, on ‘Happy’s Place,’ she added. “We all treat each other equally and fair and caring and treat ‘em nice. And that’s what Dolly did.”

Reba continues to celebrate Dolly’s legacy by creating a set filled with kindness and respect, just as Dolly always did.
