Upon receiving the call about a dog, later named Courage, who sought refuge under a slab of concrete but ended up buried, Prins leapt into action.

Armed with determination and a hopeful heart, Prins arrived at the location and started digging.

All he had to go on was a location and hope.

“It was taking too long, but I had to keep reminding myself that if I start to panic, I won’t be of any use to the dog that needs me now,” Prins said in a press release.

After an agonizing period of time, Prins finally unearthed the hidden treasure: Courage.

The dog was motionless, curled up in a ball.

“When I finally reached him, he didn’t move — I thought I was too late,” Prins shared.

Thankfully, he wasn’t.

Courage was terrified, alone, and weak, but he had survived his harrowing ordeal.
