On Facebook, the Lancaster-based shelter posted two adorable photos of the rescue cat, and wrote, “He was born missing an eye and a nostril but aside from snoring like a chainsaw, it doesn’t slow him down a bit! He is a total lovebug and gets along well with other cats, dogs, and kids.”

Eggert’s vibrant personality and charming face drew the attention of many animal lovers who saw the adoption post. Soon after, the Fairfield Area Humane Society updated its original post to inform its followers that the cat had received multiple adoption applications.

The shelter announced the results of their search for the perfect family for Eggbert on Saturday, posting a photo of the cat with her new family, along with the caption: “The update you’ve all been waiting for: Superstar Eggbert is off to his forever home!”

“So we know Eggy is in the best hands. He couldn’t have found a better home! He is going to be loved and spoiled rotten,” they added.

Eggbert’s fans reacted positively to the good news.

One commenter wrote, “Thank you for opening your home and hearts to give this cat a chance.”

“I love this so much!! He is so beautiful!! Enjoy your new baby,” said another.
