Royal Thai Navy Are Feline Heroes

  • A fishing vessel had to be abandoned at sea and their crew rescued.
  • The Royal Thai Navy checked on the rapidly sinking boat and saw four cats that they also rescued to safety.
  • The four cats are now happily being taken care of by their Navy rescuers.

After a fire broke out on a fishing vessel, its eight-man crew sent out a distress call that was answered by the Royal Thai Navy.  They then set out to rescue them to safety as the boat was rapidly taking in water. Later, as the Navy men checked on the boat that was on the verge of sinking, they saw four tiny survivors.  Four cats were trying hard to hold on to their precarious positions on the boat.

Tattaphon Sai, one of the navy sailors, swam to the sinking boat.  He gathered the four felines and swam back to the navy boat with the cats who clung to his back. They seem to understand that he was there to save them.

After they were safely on the navy boat, their previous boat disappeared into the sea.  Sai arrived just in the nick of time!

Aboard the navy vessel, the scared and drenched cats were fed and given water.  It was good to know that despite their scary experience, they were in good health.

It is still unclear whether they were abandoned when the crew were rescued or they were hidden in the fishing boat.  Or they might have been pets of the crew.  No matter what the reason or reasons were, the navy has now got their backs.

The Royal Thai Navy rescuers have brought the cats to dry land.  With their care, the four cats have been living happily and have formed friendships with their rescuers. Because for them, their lives counted to these heroes.
