Sassy Dog Sulks After Mom Orders Unflavored Snow Cone

  • After six years together, Lola’s family has grown to know all her quirks and favorites, like her beloved snow cone flavor.
  • But after having an upset stomach the day before, her mom got her a plain, unflavored snow cone one day.
  • Lola absolutely refused to eat it and just let it melt!

Lola started her journey at a local shelter. She was temporarily unable to walk after spaying caused rare complications. After a few months of slow recovery, Big Hearts for Big Dogs took her in and found her a foster family who could commit to taking her to physical therapy every week.

After fostering her for two years, they decided to make her an official member of their family.

Lola now shares her home with other rescue animals, and she’s equally loved by her forever family.

After six years, her family already knows and loves her quirks and favorites.

Her mom, Annie Belanger Burley, told The Dodo, “We have no clue how old she is, but she literally doesn’t age. She has the most amazing temperament, but she’s a total weirdo!”

Annie added that the “goofy” Lola “snores when she’s awake” that other dogs think she’s growling. The sweet pup also has to be “tucked in at night.”

Lola is very much loved and spoiled by her family. When it comes to her favorite activities, getting snow cones always gets her excited. She may have a resting grumpy face even when she’s happy, but her eyes give away her excitement.

Annie shared, “We go to Pelican Snowballs in North Fort Myers a few times a month. Her favorite flavor is chicken broth served with a Milk-Bone on top.”

One time, Annie decided to get the plain snow cone for Lola since she had an upset stomach the night before.

She thought that Lola would still enjoy the snow cone without the flavor. But Lola took one sniff…

…And immediately knew her mom messed up her order. She absolutely refused to eat it! It was the wrong flavor, after all.

Annie recalled, “She refused to eat it the entire way home and glared at me in her usual side-eye.”

Lola even let it melt right then and there instead of just eating it!

She may not have gotten her beloved snow cone that day, but her mom will surely make up for it with many more trips in the future — and with the correct order.
