“Kevin and Soup share one brain cell,” the video caption read.

The video has since been viewed over 1.7 million times and has over 450,000 likes and 1,500 comments.

The top comment, which has over 35,000 likes by itself, explained that Kevin simply “had to fluff his pillow first.” One viewer described the cat as a “memory foam pillow” while another said the whole interaction was “the cutest forced cuddles ever!”

Other viewers were more amused by the pair’s names. A comment suggested, “Kevin & Soup sounds like a great sitcom.”

Cats and dogs can be friends, as evidenced by many pet parents that care for both species. However, their friendship is not likely to immediately happen overnight.

Pet food company Purina said that furry friends are easier to introduce when they are both young since they will grow up together. But if you are thinking of welcoming a new furry family member later on, it’s best to start introductions slow by allowing them to get familiar with each other’s scent through toys or other belongings. When they finally meet, allow for distance and a way for a quick escape if they become uncomfortable.
