  • A woman was shocked to see that the birthday cake placed on her porch was ransacked.
  • But her shock turned to laughter when she spotted a nearby squirrel with a telltale sign of his crime.
  • The sneaky squirrel acted calmly as if he didn’t do anything wrong, but his nose was covered in blue frosting.

Squirrels are naturally drawn to food, so they have been known to partake of all kinds of snacks left outside, such as nuts and birdseed. One squirrel thought he hit a jackpot when he spotted an unattended birthday cake — and he would’ve gotten away with it if it weren’t for his pesky nose.

Shanna B. had to leave an ice cream cake on her porch for a bit since the fridge was full. Her friend’s birthday party was being held at her house, and she thought it would be fine to leave the cake outside in the freezing weather.

But it was a huge mistake. Shanna’s partner noticed that the cake had been ransacked halfway through the party.

Shanna’s first thought was “Oh no!” until they spotted the squirrel nearby.

One look at the squirrel’s nose instantly answered their question as to who the culprit might be.

“The ‘oh no!’ became hysterical laughter,” Shanna recalled.

The sneaky squirrel tried his best to play it cool, but his blue nose gave him away. It was covered in cake frosting!

Shanna shared, “The squirrel sat there almost motionless while everyone at the house came to the deck door to observe.”

Unfortunately for the party guests, the cake was already ruined.

Shanna had to run to the store to get a new cake.

When she returned, she saw the squirrel going back for seconds! And he even brought a friend to share it with!

The party went on well despite everything.

Shanna had to throw away the first cake, however, to prevent the squirrels from having a stomach ache from eating too much cake.

Now, Shanna has learned her lesson about leaving food outside unattended, especially with her sneaky, sweet-toothed neighbor lurking nearby.
