During a harsh winter storm in Cincinnati, snowplow driver Joe Estes became an unexpected hero by helping an ambulance reach Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, ensuring a baby boy named Bryson received the urgent care he needed.

With snow-covered roads creating hazardous conditions, Estes carefully led the ambulance, clearing a safe route through the wintry chaos.

“I’ve been here for three years, this is the first time we’ve had to think outside the box,” said Kelly Besl, clinical director of the hospital’s Critical Care Transport Team.

Estes described the task as the most important journey of his career, especially as a father himself.

“It wasn’t just pushing snow,” Estes said. “I am thrilled to have taken a role in this operation. By no means am I the hero. I’m just a truck driver, and I absolutely hope everything works out for the best.”

The ambulance crew felt relief following Estes’ lead, and both Bryson and his parents were reported to be doing well thanks to the team effort.
