  • George Koehl won the Psalms to Love Songs promotion with Beautifully Broken.
  • The song was inspired by Kintsugi, the art of repairing broken pottery with gold.
  • Koehl says he wants his music to share faith, healing, and encouragement.

Musician George Koehl recently celebrated a meaningful victory as the winner of the Psalms to Love Songs promotion. He co-wrote the winning piece titled Beautifully Broken alongside Rachel Connolly.

The song draws its profound inspiration from Kintsugi, a Japanese art form that repairs cracked pottery with gold. This creative metaphor highlights how healing can transform difficult experiences into something even more precious.

“The inspiration behind the song ‘Beautifully Broken’ comes from the Japanese art form of ‘Kintsugi,’ where the artist takes broken pottery and mends it back together with gold,” Koehl told InspireMore.

“This art form inspired us to write a song about how God takes our brokenness, our sin, our shame, and He brings beauty and healing to our shattered pieces.”

Koehl has been crafting melodies since the age of 14 and feels a deep calling to share his faith through music. He is currently working on two independent albums and plans to release several new singles throughout the year.

By turning personal challenges into harmonious art, this songwriter is helping others find peace and purpose in their own stories.
