  • In December, Luna and Gianella Gonzalez, 4-year-old twins, released a balloon containing their five wishes to Santa.
  • The balloon from Kansas reached Alvin Bamburg, a Louisiana man who decided to grant the twins’ wishes.
  • Alvin was able to send the girls their requested gifts and even drove for hours to give them a pet, saying that making them smile also made him feel so much better.

What a child’s faith can do.

In December, Luna and Gianella Gonzalez, 4-year-old twins, wrote five holiday wishes, put the note on a balloon and released it — probably with an expectant heart that their wishes will come true in any way possible.

Later on, a stranger from Shreveport, Louisiana, which is hundreds of miles away from the twins’ home in Kansas, saw the balloon while hunting in Grand Cane, Louisiana.

Alvin Bamburg was moved by the kids’ requests, which asked Santa for candy, a Spider-Man ball, a “Frozen” doll, a puppy and My Little Pony. He then shared what happened on Facebook and asked help to find Luna and Gianella’s mother.

New Update: I’ve talked to the mom! What we decided would be best is for anyone who would like to send gifts, send me…Posted by Alvin Bamburg on Saturday, January 2, 2021

With help from family and friends, Alvin was successful in finding the kids and accomplishing his sudden Santa role. He was able to send almost every present written on Luna and Gianella’s list. He, together with his wife, even drove for hours just to surprise the girls with a puppy named Max.

The twins’ mom was so astounded by the unexpected gifts, which were “a big surprise” for the family, especially for her kids. “It was something different for the girls — a memory they could keep after a rough 2020,” mom Leticia told GMA. “It was just so cold and windy. I didn’t expect them to go that far.”

As for Alvin, making a person smile doesn’t only help that person, “it will [also] make you feel so much better.”
