  • A man was on the job surveying a property when he came upon a dog trapped in a 20-foot hole.
  • He quickly called animal services and asked for help to find the owner of the dog, who was still wearing a collar.
  • The dog was soon rescued by firefighters and animal rescue officers and was able to return to his owner the same day.

Ty McIntyre was surveying a property near Mableton, Georgia, one day, when he came upon a dog in need of help. It had fallen into a man-made test hole about 20 feet deep!

Ty realized that he wouldn’t be able to get the dog out by himself. So he called for backup and took to Facebook to ask everyone for help contacting the dog’s owner.

He wrote, “I need some help finding lost dogs in the Mableton, GA, area. I was walking a job and walked upon this dog in a test hole about 20′ deep. He has a collar on, so I imagine someone is missing him. Animal control is on the way to help get him out.”

Firefighters and Cobb County Animal Services soon arrived and descended into the hole to carry the dog out safely.

Fortunately, the dog was uninjured and was able to return to his owner that same day.

Ty was given a special shoutout for helping the confused pup.

Cobb County Animal Services wrote, “Thank you to Mr. Ty McIntyre who found this sweet dog. He was checking a property and found the dog in a hole. @cobbcountyfire (Station 1) responded and with the help of ACO Huber, the dog was freed unharmed. The owner was located shortly after.”

It was a good thing that Ty happened to be out there and spot the pup, and that he was more than willing to help out.
