  • Paige’s mother was surprised to see that a stray dog had tried to break into their animal sanctuary.
  • Paige looked for his owner but he had no microchip, so she tried to look for an available foster home.
  • It seemed like the pup knew where to look for help so he could find a forever home.

The Isle of Misfits Farm Sanctuary, run by Paige Graham, already has 20 animals with special medical needs. They were already at full capacity, but she couldn’t ignore a stray dog who was clearly looking for help.

One day, Paige’s mother noticed that the screen of the porch door has been ripped out, and found a pup on the porch.

The dog, whom they later named Randy, had tried to break into the sanctuary to ask for help.

He was spooked by Paige’s mother and ran away, but came back when he spotted Paige with her dogs.

Unsure if he was friendly, Paige had to chase him off so she could get her dogs inside and close the gate. But Randy managed to dig underneath and get inside.

Randy seemed persistent to stay!

Paige found that Randy had a “wonderful disposition” when she put a leash on him. He was calm and he never barked, and “didn’t seem to understand affection or belly rubs.”

She later realized that she had previously seen Randy running near the sanctuary before.

He appeared to have a collar, but he kept getting into neighbors’ garbage cans.

Paige asked around and put up flyers around her neighborhood, but no one claimed him.

In the meantime, Paige took Randy to the vet to get some health issues addressed. He had no microchip, so Paige tried to look for a suitable home for him.

Paige did not have room for another dog, but luckily, a foster mom offered to take him in.

“He has absolutely fallen in love with his foster mom, and she has expressed interest in adopting him when his hold period is over,” Paige shared.

Randy has been looking for a home for a long time. He somehow knew that the sanctuary was the best place for him to get some help.

Paige shared, “I don’t know how Randy found my house or why he was so insistent on returning, but I am so glad he did. He is now being spoiled daily in his foster-to-adopt home, and I couldn’t be happier for him. He is the sweetest dog and deserves a loving home that will cherish him forever.”
