Carol Mack has been a dedicated teacher for 45 years up until her battle against cancer.

So, generations of students and their parents gathered outside the hospital to show their support for their beloved teacher.

Before she was moved into Aurora Health Care, several teachers and parents accompanied 26 students from first through fourth grade for a heartwarming reunion.

Occupational therapist Nicole Bartnik said, “She didn’t have children of her own but has more kids than she could ever count. To see so much love coming back to somebody that is so selfless and deserving, it is a true blessing.”

The students serenaded Carol with worship songs as they gathered around her.

Nurse Luiza Campols called the moment “the most rewarding” and “touching” thing to be a part of.

Carol called the reunion “overwhelming and very special.”

She expressed her hope that people will see the love between a teacher and her students, and how their school community came together.

During the reunion, Carol also got to catch up with her students one-on-one. And she gave and received as many hugs as possible.
