Swan lovers who got separated for the first time reunite in the most romantic way

  • Clyde and Bonnie, a popular swan couple in Crewe, England, are inseparable.
  • Bonnie had a leg injury, though, which required a treatment in an animal center, making her away from the love of her life for the first time.
  • After a month, Bonnie fully recovered and the two got reunited. The lovers immediately formed a heart using their necks as soon as they saw each other.

Reunited and it feels so good…

This could be ringing in the heads of this swan couple who had seen each other again after being separated for a month — uhm, maybe quite long for swans in-love.

Clyde and Bonnie, who live in and around a lake near Crewe, England, are like a local celebrity couple. They’ve grown very fond of each other and have become so inseparable. None of them might have expected that at some point in their relationship, they could be apart for some time.

It was when visitors noticed recently that Bonnie had a leg injury, so they called RSPCA for help. A water rescue team was then sent to get Bonnie.

The team did not expect that it could be hard to get Bonnie out of the water. She looked not happy with them taking her away from the love of her life.

“This was a tricky rescue as the female swan was quite feisty so it took four of our water rescue team to bring her to safety using two rescue rafts,” Steve Wickham, an animal welfare officer with the RSPCA, said in a press release.

Although Bonnie tried her best to resist going with them, the team succeeded in bringing her to RSPCA Stapeley Grange Wildlife Center. They treated her leg immediately but recovery took quite longer due to an old untreated injury. It was only after a month when Bonnie was brought back to where she belongs — in the lake, with none other than Clyde.

Everyone was thrilled to have witnessed the reunion of the couple.

“When she was released, she bounded towards her mate and almost immediately the pair made the shape of a love heart with their long necks,” Lee Stewart, then center manager at RSPCA Stapeley Grange, said in a press release. “It was a lovely moment!”

Obviously excited to be in each other’s arms again, Clyde and Bonnie couldn’t stop cuddling. In that moment, they probably realized how much they have missed each other — perhaps hoping that they will never have to be apart ever again.
