  • Antonio Gwynn Jr. is a member of a fraternity at his high school which has a strong stand on community service.
  • So when the protests happened in his community, he took it on his shoulders to do the cleaning of the streets after.
  • The whole community was amazed by his selfless act so they have given him gifts beyond what he could’ve expected!

Antonio Gwynn Jr. from Buffalo, New York, is definitely one of those people who go above and beyond to give back to the community and help others.

He is an 18-year-old high school senior who is also a member of a fraternity, Phi Kappa, that has a strong stance on community service. That is why, after the protests in his hometown, he did not hesitate to get a broom and do his part.

The teenager started cleaning the streets at 2 a.m. without being asked and he went on doing it for 10 hours. He knew that by the next day, many of his neighbors would then be very busy with their works and apparently somebody had to take the garbage off the streets. By the time others came to help, the majority of the cleaning had been done!

It did not take long for the word of the teen’s heroic deed spread across the town. Soon enough, his community came up with some ways to repay him for his unselfishness. There was even a stranger, by the name of Matt Block, who gave him his 2004 red Mustang convertible after he learned of his story on the news.

“I couldn’t come to grips with selling it,” Matt said. “This was a good way for me to get rid of it and know someone that gets it is going to appreciate it.”

The gift was totally unexpected for Antonio and it meant so much to him because his mother who died in 2018, used to drive the same car and even in the same color!

Another stranger, Bob Briceland, who works as an insurance agent, heard about the car gifted to Antonio and he gave him one-year free auto insurance!

The best part is, Medaille College offered him a full scholarship! Antonio planned to enroll at a trade school and now the path to his dream is starting to get clear for him!

“I literally stopped, pulled over, and started crying,” Antonio said. “So did my great aunt. My little cousin did also.”
