Esther Ober was pregnant with her second son, Samuel, when her two-year-old Elijah developed the sweetest theory about his arrival. Freshly moved into a new home with constant Amazon packages for baby gear, Elijah assumed his brother would simply be delivered to the door.
Every day, he stationed himself by the front window, full of anticipation. His excitement built as the family awaited the newest member.
“Every time it wasn’t Samuel, he would shake his head with his cute little ‘not yet,’ ” Esther shared.
“I thought it was a fun and playful way to let him build his excitement and be on alert for the baby, who could come any day.”
The heartwarming video Esther posted on Instagram quickly went viral, delighting viewers worldwide. Comments poured in praising Elijah’s innocent logic.
“It makes sense. For months and months Amazon delivers all the baby equipment, and once everything is ready, the house is ready and they can just drop off the baby,” one fan noted.

“My only regret is not staging a ‘delivery’ with the baby in a box on the porch for Elijah to find,” Esther reflected.

Kids can be so adorable , and their little minds process things differently. It was a great story and one that made me smile as many siblings have a hard time adjusting to a new body brother or sister in the house, and that can cause unnecessary stress and big problems! This Mom should not feel badly that she didn’t have time to arrange an “arrival in an Amazon box” a she would have had a hard time doing that. The picture posted says a 1000 words. Love it!
