On Christmas night, someone spotted a zipped duffel bag abandoned on the counter of a QuickTrip gas station at the corner of 91st and Mingo. Inside were five puppies, so the store called it in.

The officers who responded were “overwhelmed with Christmas feelings” when they saw the puppies that they decided to adopt them!

Officers Cordova, Pashley, Perry, and Johns each adopted a puppy, while the fifth one went home with the gas station employee.

“If you’re looking for a pet, please adopt don’t shop,” they wrote. “There are lots of rescues and shelters that are over capacity for abandoned pets.”

In a recent update, the officers said that the puppies are “growing fast and doing great.”

The four officers and the newest additions to their families were featured on Thursday’s episode of Fox & Friends.
