Quick Smiles:

  • Two iconic boy band members surprise Broadway audience with impromptu reunion performance
  • One friend rushes across NYC, dodging traffic, to support his longtime bandmate onstage
  • Theatre erupts in joyous celebration as the duo delivers feel-good musical moment

Fans attending a Broadway sing-along got way more than they bargained for when an unforgettable surprise unfolded right before their eyes. The May 12, 2026 performance of & Juliet was already special with Joey Fatone scheduled to perform It’s Gonna Be Me, a song featured on the show’s soundtrack. But the real magic happened at the very end.

Just as the song was wrapping up, Lance Bass came sprinting onto the stage to join his longtime friend and fellow *NSYNC bandmate. Lance had been at another show down the street but wasn’t about to miss the chance to support Joey. The moment their voices blended together, the entire theatre exploded with pure joy.

When Lance appeared, Joey’s face lit up with a huge smile. The friends embraced and sang, sending the audience into an absolute frenzy of happiness.

“@realjoeyfatone stopped by for a special encore & you’ll never guess who else showed up,” the show’s Instagram caption announced.

“That girl screaming ‘omg’ over and over is all of us,” someone admitted in the comments.

“The people want *NSYNC back together! Forget Justin, just get back together already and go on tour!” a fan wrote.

“Immmm dyinggg there is so much love right here and can we just say how incredible Joey sounds,” another person added.

Lance also shared the moment from his perspective on social media, playfully writing, “The things I do for you Fatone…”

In his video, he revealed the lengths he went to make the surprise happen.

“I was almost hit by 6 taxi cabs!” he exclaimed.

“My new measurement of friendship ‘Would you risk being hit by 6 NYC taxis to show up?’” a funny comment reads.

“We love this friendship so much,” a fan announced of the heartwarming Joey Fatone and Lance Bass moment.

It’s absolutely wonderful seeing these two maintain such a beautiful friendship after all these years. Their genuine affection for each other was unmistakable, and the joy they brought to that Broadway theatre was simply contagious. Moments like these remind us that true friendship endures, and sometimes the best surprises are the ones that celebrate the bonds we cherish most.
