After helping out a stranded Tik Tok influencer, a helpful Uber driver will receive almost $240,000.

Becca Moore, 23, revealed on TikTok that her phone, credit cards, and rental car keys were stolen when she was in California for Coachella. She stayed the night in a friend’s hotel room, and the hotel personnel called an Uber the next morning to arrange for her phone to be replaced.

Moore said that all she had was the Sprint store address written on it. She went added that she tried acting normal in the Uber but ended up frantically telling her driver everything.

“I was like, ‘I got robbed last night,’” Moore said. “I was kind of downplaying it, and he was like, ‘No. This is actually bad. I’m not going to let you go into the Sprint store and leave you. I’ll just wait and make sure you get a phone.’”

Raul Torres, her driver, took the remainder of the day off to assist her. Moore said Torres accompanied her to a Sprint store to help her in getting a new phone and then took her to Starbucks to calm down. They then headed to the police station to report her stolen things.

Moore’s mom tracked her phone to an Airbnb. Moore and Torres were accompanied by the police in scouring the area for the phone, but they were unsuccessful, so the officers left.

During a subsequent search, she and Torres found her phone, where she also kept her credit card.

Moore and Torres then went out to eat and talked about their families some more. Moore mentioned celebrating her birthday on June 16, which also occurred to be the second anniversary of Torres’ daughter being diagnosed with cancer, according to USA Today.

“I was like ‘Oh my God. This guy’s daughter has cancer. I just wasted his entire day,’” Moore said.

So, on April 28, she launched a GoFundMe and posted it on TikTok, asking her fans to “pls consider giving anything u can.” The fundraising had soon surpassed its intended goal of $1,000 and is currently worth more than $243,450.

On April 30, she posted an update to her GoFundMe page, announcing the death of Torres’ father, who was also battling cancer.
