  • Little Amelia was huddled together with fellow Ukrainians in a bomb shelter when she sang “Let It Go” from the Disney film “Frozen.”
  • The whole room fell in silence as they listened, and erupted into cheers and applause.
  • Amelia’s performance also reached the cast of Frozen themselves, who shared their support for both Amelia and Ukraine.

A little girl spread hope among Ukrainians when she sang “Let It Go” from the Disney film “Frozen” while they were all huddled together in a bomb shelter.

The little girl, named Amelia, was previously in a conversation with a woman named Marta Smekhova. The two have been getting to know each other.

It was then that Amelia shared that one of her dreams is to sing in front of a large audience. Marta encouraged the little girl to give it a shot right then, and she did.

Everyone in the shelter stopped what they were doing as soon as they heard the little girl sing.

The whole room fell in complete silence to listen to Amelia sing. They also made sure to cheer her on and applaud her, which made her very happy.

The video was shared online by Marta, with permission from Amelia’s mom. It has since been viewed over 16 million times!

Amelia’s performance even caught the attention of the cast of Frozen themselves! The celebrities made sure to share the video and show their support for both the young singer and Ukraine.

Josh Gad, who voiced the beloved Olaf the snowman, shared how he wanted “to hug and protect this and every other child in danger right now.”

Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who wrote “Let It Go” among many others for Disney, shared the story of writing the song with her husband.

She wrote to Amelia, “The way you sing it is like a magic trick that spreads the light in your heart and heals everyone who hears it.” She encouraged the little girl to “keep singing.”

Other celebrities, such as Mark Hamill, shared the video as well. The actor cited the quote, “In the eyes of a child you will see the world as it should be,” along with the hashtag #HopeForUkraine.

Amelia’s mom, Lilia, shared, “I always knew Amelia was very talented and a sweet angel and now the whole world knows the same. But it is a tragedy that she is only a star because of so much death and destruction.”

Millions have been worried for Amelia’s safety. Thankfully, her parents confirmed that she and her 15-year-old brother have made it safely to Poland. They’ll be staying with their grandmother there. Lilia was sad to wave goodbye to her children, but she had to make sure they were both safe.
