A husband dedicated an entire day to installing a doggy gate, only to find out that his efforts were no match for their clever canines.

In a TikTok video posted on August 10 by @delilahandsamson, viewers witnessed the freshly installed gate, intended to keep the couple’s two pit bulls out of a particular room.

The mesh gate seemed promising at first, with the dogs visible through the screen and their paws peeking out from beneath.

However, the gap at the bottom hinted that something might be amiss.

When the owners tested the gate by placing a treat on the other side, the younger pit bull quickly lost interest.

The older dog, on the other hand, demonstrated that the barrier was far from effective.

The wife shared via TikTok that she suspected her husband had installed the gate incorrectly, but he was eager to test it out.

“It has since fallen out of the wall and doesn’t work anymore,” she admitted.

“We are gonna put it lower after all the comments.”

Feedback from viewers pointed out that the gate was positioned too high, allowing the larger dog to circumvent it with ease.

Given this revelation, it was clear the smaller dog, dubbed “the destructor,” would also figure out how to get under it.

Additionally, the couple realized they had overlooked an essential step—the lock.

“My husband has skills, they just might not be handyman,” she humorously commented.
