It was another regular day for Bradley Rowe, who works at Safeway fuel station in Astoria, Oregon, filling up tanks and providing customer service.

Little did he know that he was in for the surprise of his life!

Bradley is known to be a jolly person, often striking conversations with customers while filling up tanks.

At that time, he was mindlessly sharing his dreams of buying a car — a used Ford Explorer — which he has been saving up for some time.

“He was just asking some questions. And I’m like, I’m trying to get a car loan,” Bradley said.

He was asked what kind of car, how much was it, to which Bradley said that it was on a private sale, and he was planning to have a $2,000 loan for it.

The customer was intently listening, and as soon as the gas tank filled up, he wished Bradley well and drove away.

Later that day, Bradley received such unbelievable news from Bill Ring.

Bill, who works at Warrenton Kia which is about 10 miles from Safeway gas station, had a customer that morning. After carefully considering a few options, the customer blurted out that the car he was looking for was actually for a stranger he only had a brief encounter with at a gas station.

Bill was completely blown away by the man’s generosity. They then decided that the best way to deliver that gift — since he wanted to keep it anonymously — was to write a check and Bradley can pick out a car of his choice.

Handing the check to Bill, the man said that “this should be enough for him to find something good. Something reliable.” As soon as the check payment was cleared at the bank, Bill went on to tell Bradley the best news of his life!

“You really made a good impression on somebody today and somebody’s really going out of their way for you,” Bill told Bradley. “Here’s my business card, and when you get off work, you get to come pick out a new car.”

Still in utter disbelief, Bradley, along with his girlfriend, went to the car dealer shop and chose a 2016 Kia Sportage. “The day I picked it up and drove home, the next morning I woke up and immediately went looking for my keys to make sure it was real,” he said.

The generous donor, when asked why he wanted to shell out such a generous amount of money for a stranger, said that “everything in his life changed when he found his faith, and now had the opportunity to give back to somebody who’s in need.”

Sometimes, strangers can really mean no danger, at all!
