Woman Adopts Kitten she Found at Walmart [Video]
- Annie Rahe was just grocery shopping at Walmart when she spotted a little kitten between the pallets.
- She found out that the kitten kept sneaking inside the store after being abandoned in the parking lot.
- She was able to attract the kitten’s attention and take him home, where she quickly fell in love with him.
When Annie Rahe went to her local Walmart last month, she was planning on doing some early Christmas shopping, but she ended up adopting a kitten.
She spotted the tiny kitten sleeping between the wooden pallets.
Annie decided to ask a sales associate if they knew about the kitten.
It turns out that the poor kitten was abandoned in the Walmart parking lot. He then kept sneaking inside the store, where he hid under the pallets. The staffers had tried to get him out but to no avail.
Annie felt for the poor kitten and didn’t have the heart to leave him there.
So she headed to the pet supplies aisle and got a can of kitten food.
She then placed the can down on the floor. When the kitten started eating, he got distracted enough for Annie to grab ahold of him and put him in a box on her cart.
“I also used another piece of flimsy cardboard as the lid until I could get back to the pet aisle to pick up a carrier to secure Wally in,” she shared. “I spent about 45 to 50 minutes just trying to gain his trust, because initially he climbed out of the box and my cart, and I had to catch him a second time.”
Annie ended up getting a kitten, whom she named Wally, and a lot of kitten supplies.
When they arrived home, she gave Wally a bath and another meal. The kitten fell asleep full and happy.
Fortunately, Wally is generally healthy aside from being underweight. And having a new home gave him newfound happiness.
Annie shared, “He is a happy little guy who purrs immediately when I enter the room. I have to walk carefully around him because he is always right under my feet. He is very playful with all of his new toys, and he is wonderful about using his box and scratching post!”
Annie plans to introduce Wally to his cat and dog siblings once he finishes all his treatments and gets his vaccinations.
She’s looking forward to him getting beloved by them just as he has become beloved to her.
Annie was looking forward to some Christmas shopping, but she got an early gift instead!
