Woman Annoyed At Bread Being Dropped Regularly On Her Birdbath Shocked By The “Offender”

• Ann Dixon noticed that bread was regularly dumped on the birdbath on her front lawn.
• She was getting annoyed as it is not good for birds and she has to clean it and change the water to avoid messy water.
• One day she saw a crow dunk its bread into the water to soften it and that’s when the mystery was solved.

When the truth was revealed, the woman could not help but laugh at her mistake.

For six weeks now, Ann Dixon has been questioning who could be behind the regular bread at the birdbath on her front lawn.

Dixon thought that a passerby was putting the bread there.  She said, “I was annoyed that they were feeding the birds bread as I know it’s not an ideal diet for them and because it made the water very messy. I used to scoop it out if I caught it in time and change the water.”

She was thankful that someone would regularly feed the birds but she had to clean it out as often as it appears.  So, to get to the bottom of it, she decided to leave a note politely asking the “offender” to stop dropping bread and taped it to the birdbath.

But still, the bread (and even French fries) kept appearing and the note was still attached to the birdbath. 

And so, she was surprised one day when a crow appeared with a full bread roll in its mouth. Dixon said, “He eyeballed me, and I stood very still. He then continued to strut across the lawn and fly up onto the edge of the birdbath, and then he deposited the bread roll into the water. The penny dropped that he was the culprit. I was gobsmacked, my face would have been a picture. I raced inside to tell my husband as I had been bellyaching to him for weeks about this random bread.”

And there was the answer to her big question!  The crow was just softening up its food at the birdbath!  And it could not read the note, hence it is still there.

Mystery solved. She then removed the note and just let the crow do its thing.  Now she’s wondering where the bird gets its bread.  One mystery to solve for another day.
