Woman brings dog home only to see her dog was already there

• A dog mom was surprised to see her dog outside, so she brought her back home — only to realize that her dog was already home.

Driving home from work, Tia Belton was looking forward to returning home to her dog, Reese. But as she was pulling up to her apartment, she was shocked to see Reese sniffing around a dumpster outside.

Tia was so “distressed,” since Reese has never wandered off alone. She doesn’t usually enjoy running outside, and the dumpster was a way off from her apartment.

So she called Reese over, and the dog immediately ran over to her car and jumped in.

Tia then parked her car and carried Reese to their home. With a bit of annoyance at her wandering pup, she opened the door to their home — only to find Reese already inside.

Tia looked at the pup she was carrying and realized that there had been a mix-up. The pup in her arms, who she later learned to be named Bella, looked exactly like Reese.

“I was shook and embarrassed. How dare I not recognize my own baby?” Tia shared.

Bella didn’t seem to mind the whole experience, though. She even hopped onto the couch next to Reese as if she already felt at home.

Reese, meanwhile, seemed confused by her mom’s actions. She may even have been unimpressed by her mom’s mistake.

And while Tia found Bella cute and may not mind having Reese’s look-alike at home with them, she knew that the pup may belong to someone else.

So she quickly set about to try and find Bella’s family.

Tia drove around with the “twins” to put up posters and search around.

Three days later, Bella’s family made contact. When it was time for Bella to return to her family, Tia and Reese made sure to say goodbye to the unexpected twin.

The whole experience even made Tia think that “Reese may need a sibling soon”!
