Woman gets the sweetest tattoo to honor her late beloved dog

Anna Halcin and her beloved dog, Sebastian, were inseparable friends for six long and joyful years. The small pup never failed to make Halcin smile, no matter what life threw at them.

Halcin told The Dodo: “He was special to me, and always will be. We were absolutely best friends.”

Sebastian would express his love for Halcin in a variety of ways, one of which he’d devised entirely on his own.

Sebastian would walk up to Halcin and put his little paws on his arm, seemingly at the precise moment. Halcin said her dog loved hugging her arm.

However, their time together, as enjoyable as it was, couldn’t endure forever. Sebastian died last October. Halcin was devastated to be away from her favorite puppy. But, in the middle of her loss, she had an idea for a way to keep Sebastian close to her heart for the rest of her life.

“I wanted something that was always with me, no matter what, and a tattoo seemed just perfect,” Halcin said.

Sebastian’s favorite pose inspired her to create a design that reflected it. Sebastian embraces Halcin in spirit, just as he did in life, as memorialized in this beautiful tribute.

“Now, every time I look down, it’s like he is hugging me,” Halcin said. “That’s helped me cope quite a bit.”

Sebastian may have crossed the Rainbow Bridge, but he still makes Halcin laugh and comforts her when she needs it, just as he always did.  

Sebastian now lives on in the hearts of others thanks to the tattoo Halcin has in his honor. After Halcin shared the tattoo with an online pet loss support group, the tattoo and the adorable little puppy that inspired it received an outpouring of well-wishes and appreciation.

Halcin shared, “So many people messaged me after that, showing me the pictures of their similar-looking dogs, and I see him in each one of them. I like to think it’s him saying, ‘Hi, Mama,’ each time.”
