95-Year-Olds Fell in Love and Got Hitched Amid Pandemic

One may think it’s impossible to find love amid the coronavirus pandemic, but many new relationships have surprisingly formed over the past year. Among those is a spunky pair of nonagenarians whose love persevered through it all.

Both John Shults and Joy Morrow-Nulton have lost two previous spouses.

When they met, they were already 94 years old, but it was love at first sight.

Despite the pandemic and shelter-in-place protocols, the couple from upstate New York nurtured their blossoming relationship.

During a segment of On the Road, John quipped to CBS’s Steve Hartman, “She was worth it. It was a pain in the neck, though.”

They were soon able to meet more regularly after getting vaccinated and certain restrictions were lifted.

Their bond grew stronger and their love grew deeper until John proposed like a gentleman would.

Joy said yes. The bride and groom were both 95 when they officially tied the knot.

They may have faced a series of obstacles but they persevered. And so, love prevailed and got them their fairytale happy ending.

John’s son Pete shared the secret to the newly married couple’s successful relationship: “Perseverance.”

He told Hartman, “They’d call every day. They’d find a way to get together. They did whatever it took.”

Once again, it’s been proven that it’s never too late to do anything.
