  • Bryson Kliemann, eight years old, sold his precious Pokémon collection cards when his dog Bruce got sick and his family couldn’t afford his treatment.
  • His mom created a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for the dog’s treatment.
  • Besides receiving more than enough donations, Bryson was also surprised by Pokémon’s staff gift package to him: a collection of rare Pokémon cards!

Remember eight-year-old Bryson Kliemann?

He’s the diehard Pokémon fanatic who didn’t think twice of selling his precious card collection to save his furry best friend, Bruce.

“Usually my brother and sister play together and I don’t have anybody to play with. So, I usually play with him (Bruce),” Bryson told WCYB.

So, Bryson had to sacrifice his Pokémon gems in favor of his most prized possession, his dog, especially that he knew his family had no means to afford Bruce’s parvo treatment.

“While I’m in school I get a text message with a picture of him and a sign on the side of the road selling Pokémon cards,” his mother, Kimberly Woodruff, said.

Kimberly shared the picture online to help spread the word and made a GoFundMe to raise $800 for Bruce’s medication. To her surprise, donations have reached over $5,000!

After a week of treatment, Bryson finally reunited with Bruce, and the eight-year-old boy was so glad that his best friend was back, hoping they’ll never ever have to be apart again.

According to Kimberly, Bruce is doing “amazing.”

Bryson’s sacrificial love for Bruce didn’t go unnoticed from the Pokémon staff based in Bellevue, Washington. They sent Bryson a package of rare Pokémon cards that are barely available in stores!

The gift even came with a letter of appreciation: “Hey Bryson, we were so inspired by your story about selling your cards for your dog’s recovery, these are some cards to help you replace the ones you had to sell.”

As for Bryson, the whole situation has just made him “super happy.”
