She views her last year as a gift, and she inspired everyone as she sang her original song, “It’s OK,” for her America’s Got Talent audition.

Her presence, voice, attitude, and authenticity all wowed the judges and the audience, who erupted into thunderous applause and a standing ovation. She also earned Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer, which automatically moves her to the final rounds!

Nightbirde was amazed to find out that her audition video became viral and that her song hit number one on iTunes.

She shared a screenshot of the iTunes chart on Instagram, along with the caption, “Living in a dreamland.”

During an interview with NBC4i News in her native state of Ohio, she recalled how it was just over a year ago that she was given a prognosis of three to six months.

She shared, “I’ve been on a really hard journey, and a lot of that journey I’ve walked alone, or at least in secret. There’s a lot of hard battles you fight within yourself to be positive and stay present in the world, even when it hurts really bad to do that.”

“It’s really amazing to see the lessons that I’ve learned and the person that I’ve become…it’s now able to be a gift to other people,” she continued.
