A cat was rescued after being thrown out of a car window when an Amazon delivery driver spotted the incident in Des Moines, Iowa, on Wednesday.

The driver, who remained unidentified, brought the cat to Iowa Pet Foods and Seascapes.

According to shelter owner Lori Sandahl, the driver saw the cat getting “thrown out of the car window of the car right ahead of him. So he stopped, pulled over, bent down, and she came right to him.”

Lori told KCCI that the cat is currently doing “amazing.”

Lori said that the cat is “full of life” despite the ordeal and has been “purring” since she arrived. She somehow knew that she was safe!

Lori observed that the cat is in good health and house trained.

Lori shared, “She has been handled a lot, obviously. The way she is loving on me, rubbing on me. There is no aggression or anything.”

It’s still a mystery why she was thrown out of a car. Lori only hopes that the cat can recover quickly after a checkup with a veterinarian so she can find a new home.

Lori shared, “She’s ready for lap time and cuddle time.”

There have been other instances where an Amazon delivery driver has been at the right place at the right time to help an animal in need.

In 2020, a 14-year-old pup named Luka was saved from drowning in a backyard pool in Woburn, Massachusetts. Driver John Cassabria “jumped into the pool with everything on” to rescue the senior dog after he saw him struggling in the pool’s deep end.
