In a tale that could rival any feline adventure story, Hoss, an indoor orange cat, has made his way back home after a six-week escapade.

His journey began when he managed to slip outside, leaving his family in a state of distress.

A TikTok user shared the saga in a November 19 video, revealing the emotional rollercoaster experienced by the family during Hoss’s absence.

The family, including Nels and Alexis Bostrom, had all but given up hope of seeing their beloved pet again.

“When we found him, he was tiny and weak,” the Bostroms said.

“We actually found him lying in our yard. We were surprised since we started to lose hope.”

Hoss returned with noticeable injuries, including a dangling ear and a missing chunk of his tail.

Despite his rough condition, he seemed to acknowledge that “he wasn’t made for the streets.”

The family wasted no time in getting Hoss the medical attention he needed.

“He has gained his weight and muscle back,” they said.

“Part of his ear and tail did fall off but is healed. He’s been to the vet since and they said he’s doing great!”

Interestingly, Hoss’s time outside hasn’t deterred his adventurous spirit.

A follow-up video showed the determined feline still attempting to make a break for the outdoors.

The video text humorously suggests that “apparently he has some unfinished business out there.”

Hoss’s escapade serves as a cautionary tale, a lesson “hard learned,” but one that hopefully won’t need repeating.
