Meet Chico, the handsomest K-9 in uniform

Chico the K-9 might just be the handsomest boy ever! The German Shepherd recently posed for a new photo while wearing his uniform, and he looked so dashing with his tie.

The sheriff’s office shared the photo on Facebook with the caption, “K-9 Chico posed for his new ID badge today. He even wore a tie for the photo.”

He certainly came out dressed to impress, and impress he did! Several comments called him the “handsomest.”

One commenter even said, “Wow, what a beautiful dog. Lookout fellow law enforcement officers, your new fuzzy fellow comrade will have all the female officers drooling.”

And it’s not the first time the K-9 gave quite an impression. On National Dog Day on August 26, the handsome boy rocked blue shades that suited him quite well.

For the holidays, Chico posed beside a Christmas tree while wearing a festive garland, as well as a Santa hat and beard.

He now has several fans who hope that he will have an annual holiday photoshoot.

Chico has been with the force for quite some time now, working as a patrol dog and in drug detection.

But it was only recently that he got to wear his uniform, so Corporal Robert Lees wanted Chico to look handsome for the photo.

Spokesperson Bailey Myers said, “K-9 Chico is a valued member of our team and we were thrilled to see his picture bring smiles to so many faces. He has been a member of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office for four and a half years but in dog years this photo celebrates 35 years of dedicated service.”

Police dogs are truly exceptional. They can detect crime scene evidence, narcotics, explosives, and even missing people.

When off duty, Chico is just like any other dog who loves pets and attention. He also loves playing with Kong food toys and tug of war.

Myers shared, “This photo has generated a beautiful response from our community and the nation. Members of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office are proud to see K-9 Chico’s hard work as a patrol dog celebrated by such a wide audience.”
