Dog Never Leaves His Favorite Toy Every Time It Needs “Surgery” From Mom [Video]

  • When Hooch was adopted, his parents gave him a stuffed animal that he became obsessed with even after nearly six years.
  • Through the years, Lovie, the stuffed toy, has gone through a number of “surgeries” care of Hooch’s mom, Jennifer Myers.
  • Every single time Lovie has to be stitched up, Hooch is right by Jennifer’s side waiting for Lovie to “get well.”

The South Mississippi Humane Society rescued Hooch when he was just a puppy. He joined his family as a foster pup but soon turned to be a “foster fail” because they couldn’t let him go.

When Hooch was welcomed to his new home, his parents presented him a stuffed animal that they called Lovie. The puppy immediately fell in love with her. Now, after six years, Hooch’s love for Lovie remains the same.

“He takes her to bed every night,” Jennifer Myers, Hooch’s mom, told The Dodo. “Some nights he likes to play rough with her, but other nights he just uses her to comfort himself.”

Hooch adores Lovie so much, but sometimes he plays a little rough with her that his mom has to take her away in order to stitch her up.

Hooch and Lovie have been together for a very long time, so naturally, she’s getting pretty worn, but Hooch could not simply let her go. So, Jennifer always takes the time to fix her, over and over again.

“We do surgery about once a month,” Jennifer said. “Serious stuff!”

Every time Lovie has to undergo “surgery,” Hooch will be right beside his mom, waiting for Lovie to get “well”… every single time…

He gets extremely vocal as if he’s telling his mom to be gentle with Lovie.

“He always likes to give his opinion while I am working on her,” Jennifer said.

Hooch never leaves Jennifer’s side until Lovie is finally stitched up. As soon as the “surgery” is over, he takes her and runs off with her, giving her some love until the next time she needs to undergo “surgery” again.
