St. Jude decided to honor the historic pledge by naming its future housing facility The Domino’s Village.

The new housing facility will be built on the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital campus. It will consist of 140 fully-furnished apartments with one, two, or three bedrooms that will be able to accommodate various family sizes and different lengths of stay.

Plans for the new facility’s construction has already begun. The facility is expected to fully open for patient families in the spring of 2023.

Richard Shadyac, president and CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising arm of St. Jude, shared, “The Domino’s Village will provide a home-away-from-home for the thousands of kids and families who come to St. Jude from around the world.”

“They will forever be transformed by the generosity of Domino’s in their greatest time of need,” Shadyac added.

Domino’s and its franchisees have raised more than $68 million for the children’s hospital since 2004, when the company named it its national charity partner.

Patients who have been helped by St. Jude thanked Domino’s for its donation and hoped that others will be inspired to give back.

The pizza chain itself encouraged others to donate to St. Jude using this link.
