I dont actually know if I can look at them the same 😭 If you find this through the “how to get skunk smell out of your dog” search, here’s what to do: DO NOT GET THEM WET Mix 3 parts hydrogen peroxide (3%) with one part baking soda and a spoonful of dish soap. Work that mixture into their fur and let it sit for a few minutes Then you can thoroughly wash them If you get them wet first, its much harder to get the smell out. A dog owner found herself in quite a predicament after her three furry companions had a run-in with a skunk. TikTok user @girlieinherthirties shared a video on August 20 showing the aftermath of bathing her three mischievous “kids.”

Her drenched shirt and the pile of towels on the floor painted a vivid picture of the chaos that ensued. The video has since garnered over 3.4 million views, with many TikTokers initially worried about why her children had been playing with a skunk.

Much to their relief, the owner clarified that her “kids” were actually her three Husky mixes. The clip shows these adorable dogs sitting on the bed, grinning obliviously after their bath, unaware of the stinky mess they had created.

The owner explained via TikTok that she initially thought the dogs had harmed the skunk. However, she soon realized that the skunk had been playing dead and had sprayed the dogs to protect itself.

“I don’t actually know if I can look at them the same,” she captioned the video.

These adventurous dogs have free access to the backyard through a doggy door, and the owner is still puzzled about how the skunk got into their fully fenced-in yard. Regardless, the dogs found it, and she had to deal with the aftermath.

Removing the skunk odor proved to be a challenge. The owner first got the dogs wet but quickly realized it wasn’t effective. She concocted a mixture of three parts hydrogen peroxide, one part baking soda, and a spoonful of dish soap. She worked this mixture into their fur, let it sit for a few minutes, and then rinsed it off.

“One of them clearly got sprayed in the mouth because every time she breathes on me it’s like 🤢🤢,” she shared.

In a follow-up video, she reassured viewers that both the dogs and the skunk were fine. Her husband later checked the yard and found no signs of the skunk, blood, or any injuries on the dogs.
