A kitten named Meatball has become a sensation online after a video captured him attempting to “kill” a chicken nugget before eating it.

This delightful clip, shared by his owner under the TikTok username @knottyloops, shows the tiny tabby treating the nugget as if it were prey, holding it in his paws, biting, and kicking it.

When his owner picks him up, Meatball makes amusingly angry noises while trying to enjoy the small piece of meat he managed to bite off.

Despite the pampered lives many cats lead today, their natural instincts remain strong.

Meatball is a prime example of this, demonstrating that hunting is an ingrained behavior in cats, which they are born knowing how to do.
