Right from the start, Sofía Jirau already knew she’s born to walk the runway and turn many heads.

After all, this 22-year-old Puerto Rican model is truly beautiful.  But more than just a showcase of beauty, Sofía is helping transform the fashion industry to broaden the inclusivity by having her in one of their most famous events!

Born with Down syndrome, that didn’t hinder Sofía to do what she loves and meant to do. Last year, she joined INprende Agency and started her modeling career.

“I was born for this, and I want to show the world that I have everything a model needs to shine,” she posted on Instagram.

She most obviously does! She has also since worked with a number of designers including Kelvin Giovannie and others. In the latest New York Fashion Week, she wore a dress created by Marisa Santiago.

As Sofia walked down the runway of the famous fashion show on February 10, she has definitely made heads turn, while many of her fans cheered in support and pride.

“One day I looked in the mirror and said, ‘I’m going to be a model, and I’m going to get to New York,’ and look here I am,” she said. “I made it, and now I want to model worldwide.”

This is just the start of a bright future for Sofia in the industry. She hopes to get her next modeling job in Europe. But apart from this, she also has recently started her own brand named “Alavett”—a clothing line, accessories, and home decor! The name of her brand comes from her favorite phrase “I love you.”

This stunning model wants other people to learn that “Inside and out, there are no limits. You can accomplish your dreams too!”
