Hero neighbors raced into a burning home to save an 87-year-old grandma after her daughter watched the terrifying fire on a doorbell camera. Phyllis Day, who has Alzheimer’s, was asleep when a blaze broke out in the utility room of her home in Wigston, Leicestershire in England.

Luckily, neighbors spotted flames and smoke billowing from the house and immediately sprang into action. They forced their way inside and pulled Phyllis to safety before firefighters arrived.

The dramatic rescue was captured on the doorbell camera and sent straight to her daughter, Suzanne Wright, who initially feared the rescuers looked like intruders. Moments later, she realized they were saving her mother’s life.

“I just burst into tears when I saw them carrying her out,” Suzanne said.

The entire neighborhood has since rallied around Phyllis, offering support and comfort during her recovery. The family is deeply grateful for the kindness of strangers who chose to act without hesitation.
